A big welcome to all our amazing families gearing up for a return to the pool on Sunday afternoons. And to our newly registered families we look forward to meeting you and your little champions and sharing in your aquatic journey throughout the beautiful Australian summer. Our first club day for 2024/25 will be Sunday 20th October.
We hold races each Sunday afternoon during the summer season and strive to contest at least three swimming strokes each weekend. The only exception to our weekly program is our Christmas race day (which is shortened) and our Family Fun Day (which is largely based on participation and family relays and races). We hold 10m and 15m events for our youngest swimmers whilst our budding champions and their parents contest handicapped races over 25m or 50m distances.
All Northern Beaches Swim Club swimmers have the opportunity to contest WASA Carnivals throughout the year and carnival information can be found in the Carnival section of the website. Carnivals provide a great opportunity for our swimmers to practice their skills and further develop their race fitness. Carnivals also serve as great practice sessions prior to school swimming carnivals.
In addition to providing carnival opportunities for our swimmers WASA hosts a School Holiday Skills Camp every January. This 4-5 day daily camp gives our swimmers the opportunity to learn and develop their skills with coaches and other swimmers from the Northern Beaches. Applications open soon and the cost of the week is always under $50 per swimmer! If you are looking to fast track your child’s skills and motivation prior to their school carnivals in February this is an amazing opportunity not to be missed. For more information on the WASA School Holiday Swimming Camp please see Lois at the pool.
